Compelled

In 1 Corinthians 9 Paul talks about being involved in God’s work. He felt compelled to say yes to God initially and he kept saying yes to God all along the way. It wasn’t the money that motivated him. It wasn’t the prestige or the personal pleasure. It wasn’t because the relationships were so easy and everyone was so supportive … LOL! Paul says he was compelled by God to do it! It wasn’t just getting knocked off his horse and having a bright light blinding him that compelled him either. He was already trying to obey God and wanting to obey God but was just a little behind the times and confused about what God wanted. He had a course correction and began using his passion for God in the proper ways. Paul actually said “Woe is me if I do not obey God and do ministry.” Later Paul said he made many adjustments in order to win more people, and help more people win. What adjustments is God wanting us to make today? Then Paul said he disciplines himself so he can run and run to win. Paul wasn’t content to just be saved or just be in the race a little. He wanted to win and help others win too. I hope you are compelled to say yes to God today. I hope you understand what it means for yourself and for others when you say no to God. I hope we all can win personally and help many others win too. I hope we are compelled!
